Knut bio

Didier - vocals,
Philippe - guitar
Jeremy - bass
Roderic - drums

Geneva, Switzerland-based hardcore/metal band Knut (pronounced "cnoot") formed in 1994 and consists of Didier on vocals, Philippe on guitar, Jeremy on bass, and Roderic on drums. Following a couple of 7" releases, they released their first CD, Leftovers, in 1997 on the Snuff label, which is co-run by band members Didier and Roderic. Bastardiser, the follow-up to Leftovers and the band's first full-length CD, came out the next year, also on Snuff Records. It was eventually reissued in the U.S. by Hydra Head Records in 2000 after Jake Bannon from the Boston metalcore band Converge introduced it to label head Aaron Turner. In 2000, Knut toured the U.S. for the first time with Turner's band ISIS and Thrones and also released a new, self-titled EP, again on Hydra Head. The EP's songs had actually been previously released on two limited-edition 7"s in Europe. Knut returned with its second full-length, Challenger, in 2002.
